How do you refer to your pet(s) when you talk to others?

I don't have any right now, but when I had my little Isis (dog) I called her my little girl or my kid. She is waiting for me at the rainbow bridge so we can cross together. She is happy, healthy again, and having a ball playing with the other pets waiting for their best friends there. And why are my eyes tearing up, sentimental old fool!
