Which steps take place in both mitosis & meiosis:?

I think the answer should be D. It sounds like both C and D are correct, however, you have to remember the subtle difference between chromatids and logous pairs. Chromatids are each individual copy of a chromosome (one half of a clic x shaped chromosome). These seperate during mitosis. They also separate during meiosis 2, but I think that your teacher is more talking about meiosis 1, because of the talk about synapsis and tetrads. In meiosis 1, each logous pair seperates, not all of the chromatids. So chromatids don't seperate in meiosis. However, chromosomes do pair up and move towards the center of the cell during all mitosis and meiosis events, so that is the best answer.
